sbobet777 Rangers manager Graeme Murty could help define his future at the club if his side beats Celtic on Sunday in the Scottish Cup semi-final, says former player Stuart McCall.

The Rangers' boss' future at the club remains uncertain with his contract as the interim manager set to expire at the end of the season. He took over from Pedro Caixinha who was sacked in October.

David King has praised Murty for his work at Ibrox but says he will make the "best appointment" possible ahead of next season.

Their best chance of silverware comes in the Scottish Cup and McCall believes the players "must be looking to win" which would help shape their bosses future.

Speaking to Sky Sports News he said: "I think Graeme is doing everything in his power. I think their recruitment in January was terrific and they have some good players now, so it gives him half a chance.

"The better players you have got, the better chance you have of progressing and being successful. But Graeme has been in the game long enough and he knows it is about results and it changes week by week. sbobet777

"Sometimes they have a couple of great results, back-to-back wins against Aberdeen and people saying he is the right man for the job.

"Then a defeat against Celtic, opinions change so quickly. But Graeme can only do what he can do when he gets the best out of his players.

"But I am sure if he can get a result on Sunday, it will go a long way in helping him define his future."

Celtic are aiming to complete another treble and have already won the Scottish League Cup this season, however, McCall, who managed Motherwell from 2010-2014, stated he thinks the pressure is on Celtic to perform.

"Everyone expects Celtic to go and do another treble and they are well on their way to it but it's the semi-final," McCall added.

"It's an Old Firm game, anything can happen. In the last league game Rangers have shown they are getting a little bit nearer. Celtic have the quality, the experienced players but it is 90 minutes of football anything can happen.

"Rangers have better players now, players that can hurt Celtic but it will be on the day. If Rangers turn up they will make a real good go of it but it is going to be a tight game." sbobet777
